“Based on [Alt-80s DJ] Chris Atwood’s recommendation, we checked out Dark Crushes at the Barrel House Z brewery in Weymouth on 4/26/25. The band was excellent- tight and polished without being slick. Their song list was heavily skewed towards the early 80’s ( Gang of Four, Echo and the Bunnymen) and they played the “oldies” with aplomb and reverence to the originals. They display solid musicianship and can do justice to the original songs without sounding like a simple clone of the original. Well worth checking out if you’re a devotee of early 80s new wave/post punk music. ” - Christopher Sheehy
